Short medical biography

Nilay completed his undergraduate training at Cambridge University in 1997 after which he moved to Oxford to commence surgical training. During this he undertook a period of research at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, Oxford University.  Nilay was awarded the “European Association of Urology – Thesis Award” for his MD thesis. He went on to complete specialist registrar training in Urology in the Oxford Deanery. His main areas of interest are the biology and management of renal and testicular cancer.

Nilay delivered undergraduate teaching in surgery and urology to clinical medical students and was the lead tutor for the “Surgical Technology and Robotics” module of the MSc in Surgical Science and Practice. He was the teaching programme director for the Urology trainees’ Training Programme in the Oxford Deanery.

Family life

Nilay was married to Seetal and had two daughters.
